How Padel Scoring Works

Padel scoring is the same as tennis. Points go 15, 30, 40, game. The first pair to six games (two clear) wins the set, with a tie-break at 6–6. Matches are usually best of three sets.

Points

  • 0 (love), 15, 30, 40, game.
  • At 40–40 (deuce), you either play advantage until one pair is two points clear, or a single golden point decides the game. Agree which before you start.

Sets and tie-breaks

  • Six games wins a set, with a two-game margin.
  • At 6–6, play a tie-break: first to 7 points, two clear.
  • Change ends after odd-numbered games.

Social formats

Club socials often use points-based formats instead, such as the americano and mexicano.
