A padel t-shirt sounds like a simple purchase. It's not.
The wrong one restricts your movement at the wrong moment, soaks through in the first set, or looks so obviously sporty that you're changing before you've even left the venue. The right one disappears when you're playing and looks considered when you're not.
Here's what actually matters.
Fabric
Moisture-wicking is non-negotiable for on-court performance. Technical polyester blends pull sweat away from the skin and dry quickly, keeping you comfortable through longer sessions.
Avoid 100% cotton for on-court use. It feels great off court but absorbs moisture rather than wicking it, getting heavier as the session goes on.
Fit
You need full range of arm movement for padel — overhead smashes, reaching shots, serving. Anything too tight across the shoulders will restrict you.
At the same time, avoid anything too oversized or boxy. It catches the air as you move and can become distracting. A slightly relaxed fit with structured shoulders is the sweet spot.
Design
This is the part most performance brands get wrong. Bold logos, aggressive graphics, colourways that belong on a football training ground — none of it translates to the social side of padel.
The best padel t-shirts are restrained. Clean lines, minimal branding, a colourway that works on court and in the bar after. You should be able to wear it without announcing what sport you play.
The AP Club Play Tee
